Next up was Caitlin's soccer game. This particular Saturday was labeled "Silent Saturday" by the league. We weren't allowed to coach or cheer individual players and could only praise as a team. The point was to allow the players to take what they have learned so far and trust their instincts and talk to each other. While this may be a good plan for older and more experienced players, it created a bit mess for the little ones. What soccer instincts do 5 year olds have? Anyways.... I could go on and on about this but the girls didn't care. They lost by a landslide but didn't even know the difference. They just have fun running around. Grandma brought her new doggie Max to his first game too. Isn't he cute?!?!?!
Saturday night we headed out to Paesano's for a dinner just the four of us. They have a great kids meal and provide pizza dough for them to play with while we're waiting. We love eating in mid town and downtown and Paesano's never disappoints. We then set out for a family first. The drive -in movie theaters!! I had been wanting to take the kids to see "Dolphin Tail" and since it is getting dark a little earlier, the show started at a reasonable time. We didn't realize how popular the drive ins were, so we arrived just at show time. There was a long line getting in and we missed about 15 min of the movie. We didn't quite get situated too well and it wasn't super comfortable. Jason liked it, and Caitlin was really fidgety. Maybe next time we'll know to get there earlier and bring more pillows. It was a great little adventure and I'm hopeful we'll try it again soon!
