Caitlin and Jason before getting some energy out - I made them do laps around the fountain

The chimp. He was literally eating his poop in front of us. May have been the highlight of the day. We were all laughing hysterically and the kids thought it was hilarious. Caitlin told him it was a very bad choice to eat his poop.

Jason was mad because he wanted to be the person who was holding the snake and Caitlin got it because it was the shortest hole

Today, after a Jr Tigers game and Caitlin's pre-school Harvest Festival, the Hafenstein's headed to San Francisco to meet up with our good friends the Schwartz's at the SF Zoo. Stephanie and Keoni have an adorable baby girl, Allison who is four months old. We haven't had any time to spend together yet since her birth and were so excited to see them and catch up. The San Francisco Zoo is a major upgrade from the pathetic Sacramento Zoo, and housed every animal imaginable other than an elephant (do any zoo's still have elephants??).

The Hafenstein kids were wilder than the zoo animals, leaving us all exhausted and hopefully not traumatizing Steph and Keo too much as to what parenthood has in store for them a few years down the road. Stephanie was one of the first visitors in the hospital the day Jason was born (even before family arrived) and I was one of Allison's first. I am looking forward to watching Steph, Keo and Allison grow as a family and hope to see them more often! That is, if we haven't scared them off...
