Pierced Ears!

So... I caved. I had to be 13 before I got my ears pierced. I thought it was dumb and promised never to make my daughter wait that long (sorry Mom and Dad). At first I thought 10 was a more reasonable age. Then seeing how responsible Caitlin is and how badly she wanted them done, I dropped it to 8. Her BFF Katherine's mom also had promised 8. Since the girls turn 8 just a couple weeks apart we had planned on getting them done together. After further discussion... we decided to get them pierced early so that they could be removed come soccer season. They were so excited and happy to experience this together. They stayed strong for each other and fought back many tears. I'm so happy these girls have each other!


Unfortunately a week after getting them pierced, Caitlin had an earring kicked out at swim practice. Grandma took her right away but the hole had already closed up so she had to get both re-pierced and start the 6 week clock over again :(
