Caitlin's kindergarten class put on a performance of "Stone Soup" along with a stone soup lunch that they made for their class and parents. The kids made all the dishes including pumpkin pie, soup and corn bread. Before the feast, the kids sang a few Thanksgiving songs and acted out "Stone Soup" as Mrs. Pugh read the story. Going into the performance, we thought Caitlin was going to play the role of a carrot. We were pleasantly surprised to find out when we arrived that she was bumped up to a speaking part of a "traveller". Mrs Pugh said they all rehearsed a bunch of different parts and she knew Caitlin was her "ace in the hole" if any of the planned travellers weren't up for it the day of. She stepped up to the plate when another child backed out and did a great job :) Look at all those smiles! We are very proud of Caitlin and her willingness to step up to fill the spot! Of course, the video camera battery was dead so I had to use my camera which meant the pics are from the phone... not the best quality but you get the point.
