It has been a little bit of a challenge. She goes down fine and falls asleep, but has a harder time falling back to sleep if she wakes up at all. Usually around 5:30 or 6 she would wake up and call for her pacifier, now it takes a little bit longer to go back down (or not at all) but I'm sure we'll all adjust somehow...

Bye Bye Binky
We decided it is about time for Caitlin to be done with her Pacifier. She already gave it up during play and at nap time at school, but still uses it for naps and bedtime at home. We figured it was probably a good idea before she gets into a big girl bed (probably around xmas time). These are pics from us having a little fun with stickers after she threw her pacifiers away. Now that may seem harsh. I know there are many other tricks out there like mailing it to babies or sending them into the sky or the binky fairy, but she honestly just wouldn't understand any of that. I asked her if she wanted to throw them away, and she said yes, so we went with it. She collected them and threw them in the kitchen trash. Now she knows they are gone and not coming back!

we went through this with Stell. you just have to grin and bear the early wake ups, she'll stop doing it eventually. Stell did the same thing and it was brutal at first, but now she is back to sleeping through the night. we had the "paci fairy" come and boy, it worked. she got a special surprise in the AM from the fairy. we told her the fairy came to take her paci to a little baby who needed it and she designed the envelope, stamped it and mailed it herself! pretty cute. she never asked for it again.
