San Luis Obispo, CA

The morning after Christmas we packed up early and hit the road for the long drive to San Luis Obispo. We were only there for two nights but we crammed in a lot of sites, sun, food (of course) and even a little history.

First stop -- Firestone Grill!

 

The weather was ridiculously nice. High 70s and even some low 80s. That's above average in general for SLO, let alone the weekend after Christmas...  After a quick hotel check in, we hit the beach! Avila that is...

 

 

 

 

Splash Café for Dinner followed by SLO's famous Thursday night Farmer's Market. We hit they hay early and were back at it in the AM for Old West Cinnamon Rolls in Pismo Beach!

 

We had a lovely morning walk down the pier and through the shops in Pismo. The morning was spectacular, no fog like normal and we were able to watch the surfers and just enjoy the weather.

 

 

We went back to Avila beach that afternoon and Firestone Grill again for dinner. Then we went to the movies and back to bed. The next day we drove out to San Simeon for a Hearst Castle Tour. Pics in the next post :)
