Our Big First Grader

Last week Caitlin started soccer and first grade.  Jason will start his new school tomorrow so this was her turn being the only Hafenstein on the Natomas Park Elementary School campus. We met her friend Katherine in the morning so they could walk in together. Caitlin met Katherine at soccer practice last year the week before Kindergarten started. They ended up being in Kindergarten together and quickly became best friends. Although they are on the same soccer team again, they have different teachers for first grade. Thankfully class sizes have reduced so there are only 20-22 kids in each class (last year was 32) which means there are 6 first grade classes. There are only a few kids that Caitlin knows in her class, and she has a teacher (Miss. Alfaro) that is new to the school but she is loving being a big kid and always excited to go to school.
