This year baking cookies for Santa was different than all others. Caitlin was able to roll out the dough pretty well all on her own, and Jason used the cookie cutters and transferred them onto the baking sheets. They barely even needed my help! I assisted with the frosting because it would have taken them hours to finish all the cookies, but for the most part they were self sufficient. Jason spent a lot of time on one particular Santa shaped cookie. He had a battle with himself over whether or not to put it on the plate for Santa. Because he isn't quite sure if he still believes in Santa, he figured if he wasn't real, we (mom and dad) would get to eat it therefore he may be better off saving it for himself. However, if Santa IS real, he wanted him to have the cookie. In the end, without any pressure or direction from us, he put the cookie on the plate for Santa. I guess he didn't want to take any chances! Jason also chose to put out 8 carrots this year instead of just a couple. He wanted each reindeer to get one, not just Rudolph.
