Today was opening day for North Natomas Little League. Being a new league (I think this is the fourth or fifth year), there are a number of things that change from season to season. One of the changes is that the teams this year are college teams, not MLB. It is kind of strange cheering for the Tennessee Volunteers, rather than a major league team, but I'm sure we'll get the hang of it.
Another change is they re-structured the levels so Jason was at an in-between point of being the oldest of the "A" league, or the youngest of the "AA" league. We decided to keep him in A which means there is a pitching machine and they don't keep an official score. It brings a different mood to the game but still fun to watch of course. Jason went three for three and played pitcher, catcher and first base!
The parade and opening ceremony was this morning, and Jason's game was at 3:00pm and boy was it a COLD day. Here's to another great sports season, GO VOLS!
